3 Hitchcock on Hitchcock and a French movie classic

There are a couple of quirky indie movies coming up at Eden Court Cinema, first up on Sunday August 13 to Wednesday, August 16 is My Name Is Alfred Hitchcock (15). A century on award-winning filmmaker Mark Cousins looks at the director with a new approach – through the director's own voice! As Hitchcock rewatches his films, you will be taken on an odyssey through his vast career – his vivid silent films, the legendary films of the 1950s and 60s and his later works – in playful and revealing ways. The documentary is on at various times. On Monday, August 14 A Summer's Tale (U) is Eric Rohmer's 1996 summer romcom in French with subtitles. A shy maths graduate takes a holiday in Dinard before starting his first job. He hopes his sort-of girlfriend will join him, but soon strikes up a friendship with another girl working in town, then he meets another and he finds he has some tricky juggling to do!
