1 Free extravaganza of fun lined up ...

Just a reminder that it is worth heading for the Northern Meeting Park on Saturday, June 24 to get a taste of all the activities and things to try at your free Get Set For Summer from 11am to5pm! A full day of free fun activities is all based there uniting the forces of High Life Highland and LCC Live for this pilot charitable event. from inflatable fun and family games to funfair rides, and High Life Highland Young Leaders leading sporting action throughout the day, as well as local sports clubs including the Highland Rugby Club and Inverness Table Tennis. Bookbug will be hosting their famous story time sessions, lego-building, and giving away mystery book bags. The team from the Inverness Castle Experience will reveal the latest progress on the Castle’s exciting redevelopment, and the Highland Archives will have interesting historical displays to view, with special local features including the history of the Northern Meeting Park itself. There will also be fun fitness challenges to get involved in from the Leisure Centre. Members of the public will also be in for a chance to win some fantastic prizes in the big Get Set For Summer Spin-to-Win, including tickets to Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2023, and a whole year’s free Highlife membership. Charities, businesses and crafters from across the Highlands are coming along to present their local products and services, including the Highland Dog Bakery – and visitors are welcome to bring their four-legged friends along to this dog friendly event. Also look out for Ollie’s Pops, Juicy Ness, Whisk Away, Red Shank, and Auld Smokey Pizza from the Highland Food & Drink Trail.

2 Don't miss music ...

So much to choose from over the next week – in theory you could go and see it all, as these musicians will all be playing different nights! Start off on Friday, June 23 at the Tooth & Claw from 7.30pm with The Joshua Hotel. Maybe one of the most exciting indie presences you can catch in their hometown of Inverness this band, led by frontman Joshua Mackenzie, create thrillingly original electro-influenced pop. At the same venue on Saturday, June 24 from 8pm, Cousin Kenny from Bathgate – now with local support. Ticket details from the venue. And the coming month's guests at the Inverness Acoustic Music Club will be Rebecca Hill & Charlie Stewart on Wednesday, July 5 at 7.30pm. Yes, this is a week early heads up, as the venue is small, so get yourself booked in if you fancy checking this duo out and chilling with the intimate crowd in The Wee Bar.

3 It's All Coming Back To Me Now ...

If you love your MeatLoaf numbers, you will already know that Steve Steinman’s Anything For Love: The MeatLoaf Story is coming to Eden Court Tuesday and Wednesday, June 27 and 28 at 7.30pm.

4 Big screen Harrison

It's the return of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny (12A) from Wednesday, June 28 at Vue Cinema and two days later at Eden Court, which is where you can also see him in a very different roll, as downbeat cop Deckard ... a classic performance from the American actor, in Bladerunner: The Final Cut (15) on Tuesday, June 27 at Eden Court Cinema, 7.30pm. as part of the Inverness Film Fans’ sci-fi season.

5 The circus is coming to town ...

This week's HEADS UP is to be sure not to forget, the circus is on its way with Circus Vegas coming to Inverness from next Thursday (June 29 )till Tuesday, July 4 with a new specially-created show. Find them at Inverness Caledonian Thistle Stadium, times vary.
