1 Saturday night is music night ...
It's a little bit crazy this Saturday if you fancy some music – there are lots of gigs to choose from. There's a rocked-up four-strong bill at the Tooth & Claw, doors 7pm, with Greater Than Fear, The Idiot X, Thousand Mile Stare and Atomic Mother. Up at Bogbain Farm, young six-piece trad band Cala are launching their debut album From The River (7pm). And if you are up for a night at Strathpeffer Pavilion, you will find Toploader there (7pm), fulfilling a postponed gig and stars of the fundraising night for the Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust itself that owns the venue. Pop along and support both! Plus, the night before, you could get warmed up for all of it with a cheeky five-strong line-up of Up The IV, Broken Ravens, Gunpoint X, Dal Raita and Aklias at the Tooth & Claw (7pm doors)! 2 Step back in time ...
It's the return of one of Scottish Ballet's most powerful productions to Eden Court on Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at 7.30pm as they recalibrate the claustrophobic world of 50s America with A Streetcar Named Desire Dramatic, emotional dance version.
3 Family time
On Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 Eden Court Cinema, SQUIFF is a mini-filmfest on trans family experience starting with Trans Parenting from 2pm with a programme focusing on trans and non-binary experiences around family; raising families, forming families, and nurturing families.
4 Springtime evening concert
At Inverness Cathedral the massed voices of Inverness Choral Society get together for their spring concert on Saturday, April 22 at 7.30pm. It includes Faure’s Requiem with soloists and the cathedral's music director Adrian Marple – the society's accompanist – on the organ.
