2 Pre-teen comedy with Judy Blume classic

Out on Friday, May 19 at Vue Cinema, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret (PG), is an adaptation of Judy Blume’s story as a 1970s-set comedy drama. Eleven-year-old Margaret Simon (Abby Ryder Fortson) is sad when she learns from her parents Herb (Benny Safdie) and Barbara (Rachel McAdams) that the family will be moving from New York City to New Jersey for her father’s work. The relocation takes the clan further away from Margaret's paternal grandmother Sylvia (Kathy Bates). Margaret voices her concerns by talking to God, then she kindles friendships with new next-door neighbour Nancy Wheeler (Elle Graham) and new classmates Janie Loomis (Amari Alexis Price) and Gretchen Potter (Katherine Kupferer).
