3-vehicle crash closes busy road in Inverness

Emergency services were called to a busy Inverness road after a three-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon.

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service attended the scene in Caulfield Road at its junction with Tower Road at around 12.25pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are dealing with a road crash which has closed Caulfield Road at Tower Road, Inverness. Please use an alternative route."

Officers were understood to still be at the scene shortly before 2pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said five of its appliances were sent to the scene at 12.26pm although they left after 12.54pm.

Police have confirmed that an ambulance was in attendance. The Scottish Ambulance Service has been approached for further information.

It is understood that two people were taken to hospital.
