The Scottish Fire and Rescue Services (SFRS) said three of its appliances - from Inverness and Nairn - were scrambled to the scene of the crash at around 2.51pm.

The collision occurred at the A96's junction with the B9006 Croy and Cawdor road, and the turn-off for Fort George.

One of the SFRS' specialist units also attended, and police were also spotted on scene.

The SFRS said its crews were only required to make the scene of the crash safe, and their crews left the site shortly after 3.09pm.

There were no immediate details over the types of vehicle involved, or whether anyone was injured.

Police have been approached for comment.

Traffic Scotland said the road was "restricted" in both directions and advised road users to "use caution on approach".
