UPDATE: Police Scotland say 15-year-old arrested and charged after bike theft in Inverness

Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old male after the theft of bike in the Westhill area of Inverness.

Officers issued an appeal for witnesses and information yesterday following the theft.

It was believed to have happened between 1pm on March 1 and 9am on March 3, with the bike described as a nickel-coloured Santa Cruz Hightower CS cycle with orange branding.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Following our previous post regarding the theft of a bike from Westhill, the bike has since been recovered and a 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with this theft.

"A report will be submitted to the relevant authority.

"We would like to thank the public for their assistance in raising awareness of the theft, leading to the finding of the bike."
