INVERNESS has its fair share of stylish shoppers and, with summer almost in full swing, the city centre was bustling with eager fashionistas looking for those real bargains.

Annabel Skinner (55) retired from Slackbuie, Inverness

What she’s wearing: Top and cardigan from Monsoon, trousers and shoes from Marks and Spencers and bag from Jimmy Choo.

"I don’t like slouchy clothes, I like to dress up," she said. "I also like to wear colours as it brightens my mood and makes me feel good.

"I’m loving wedges at the moment and I try to keep up-to -date with fashion by reading magazines like OK, Bella and Grazia.

"Fashion is quite important to me and as well as shopping in the Eastgate Centre I like to go shopping in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

"I think Helen Mirren is beautiful and I thought she looked great when she wore that leopard print dress with the leather jacket recently."

Karen Mackay (43) from Woodgrove Place, Inshes, Inverness.

"I would say my style is quite smart," she said. "I feel at my best in dresses or jeans, something simple and easy to wear.

"I really love the 70s style that is out at the moment.

"I’m going on holiday next week to Nottingham so I’m buying both short and jumpers as I’m not sure what the weather will be like.

"I do follow trends and pick and choose clothes to suit my figure.

"I have a cream Maxi skirt that I’ve had for 10 years and it is my most precious piece of clothing.

"It’s a great shape for me and as maxis are back in this year I’ll probably wear it with a T shirt and wedges.

"I like looking at fashion websites like Red magazine’s.

"My favourite shop is French Connection as the clothes are nice and simple and you can buy staple items.

"I like actress Michelle Williams’ style as she’s very classy."

Kerry Smith (19) works at Smith and Jones bar, from Inverness High Street.

What she’s wearing: Top and vest both Primark, shorts from Jane Norman, shoes and bag from New Look and sunglasses from Dorothy Perkins.

"I like to wear more fitted clothes," she said.

"I like neutral colours because I think they go well with my blond hair.

"I don’t particularly follow trends, I go with what suits my body.

"I’m not so keen on high-waisted trousers and flairs, I won’t be going there.

"I’ll take fashion and I’ll make it suit me.

"My favourite piece of clothing is a silk one shoulder dress from Jane Norman which I love as it fits me so well.

"I love shopping in Jane Norman and any high street stores.

"Primark has also got so much better recently.

"I like Cheryl Cole’s style."

Kate Samczuk (30) restaurant worker from Inverness city centre.

What she’s wearing: Top, cardigan and boots from TK Max and skirt from River Island.

"I love skirts," she said. "I feel at my best dressing up but I also like sports clothes.

"It just depends where I’m going.

"I don’t really follow fashion, I try to create my own style.

"The 70s style in the shops at the moment is not really my cup of tea.

"I like Cameron Diaz’s style, she looks amazing."
