Previously unheard bonus tracks have been added to the tracklisting when musician Steven Barclay's solo EP launched on all major streaming channels.

Performing under his solo alter ego of The Chosen Lonely, Steven's EP, Barclay, first debuted last year as a limited run of 500 CDs.

It won plaudits from the likes of BBC Rapal on Radio nan Gaidheal/the BBC Sounds app – where it was named 'Record of the Week'.

Three of its tracks were also performed during the radio broadcast, which followed successful shows at the Ironworks in Inverness and at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.

Throughout the turbulence of the remainder of 2020, The Chosen Lonely remained active with further radio appearances and he also appeared on the live stream We Are One Festival, performing to a virtual crowd of over 500. His set was followed by a live streamed acoustic performance from the lead singer of 90s band ‘Dodgy’ (whose hits include Staying out for the Summer, and Good Enough).

And now, as he closes the first chapter of The Chosen Lonely, Steven's genre bending EP has four previously unheard bonus tracks.

Fans of the indie-rock musician's work will also have "several brand-new tracks" to look forward to across 2021.

A spokesman said: "The EP was produced following the break-up of his former band, and he began writing and recording new material from home.

"Without any clear direction and with the freedom to explore new styles, his experimental approach produced several tracks that took on a whole new feeling than "that of his previous ventures.

"Bending across genres, the addition of a dusty old drum machine (retrieved from his neighbour’s attic) blended with his melodic guitar tones, reminiscent of the chart-topping 90s, developing a sound which he has begun to call ‘Indiephoria’."
