Our long-running series for lovers of the great outdoors has launched a new podcast.

Active Outdoors has been running since 2008, when it first launched in the Inverness Courier and has since expanded to be a regular feature of many Highland News and Media titles across the north of Scotland.

Series editor John Davidson, who is the company's content and commercial editor, presents the new podcast, which focuses on getting out and about in the outdoors.

It will cover a range of relevant topics and interviews, as well as getting out into the wilds to explore the Highlands, Moray and further afield.

John heads up Beinn Bhuidhe in the Monadhliath in the first episode.

In the first episode, John takes a walk to a trig point on the edge of the Monadhliath mountains before speaking to a PE teacher at Inverness Royal Academy who is hoping to build a mountain bike skills loop in the school grounds.

You can listen to the podcast here, and it will soon be available on Spotify.
