Leading female climber Fay Manners to give talk on award nominated film in Aviemore

An intimate evening of moving mountain films and conversations with elite British alpinist Fay Manners is being held in Aviemore later this week.

The event includes free refreshments, goodie bag and an exclusive prize draw opportunity to win a guided mountain experience with AMI qualified professional Matt Pavitt.

Manners has notched up some incredible achievements in her career including conquering the north face of the Eiger with an all-female team last year.

'Embracing the Grim' follows Piolets d’Or nominated alpinists Fay Manners and Line van den Berg to the winter landscape of the Highlands on an ambitious mixed climbing mission beset by typically fickle weather.

Tragically, since filming, van den Berg lost her life in an avalanche in the Swiss Alps. This poignant film was finished in her memory.

For years, the Dutch woman searched for the 'perfect' female climbing partner to share her passion for mountains and to join the struggle of being an athlete in a male-dominated sport.

Fay Manners became that partner.

She will be in conversation at Tiso at the Aviemore Retail Park this Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm.
