Black Isle Brewery is ready to Jock ‘n’ roll once again – as the first line-up announcements for its annual festival are made.

Jocktoberfest – back on site at the Munlochy brewers for its eighth year – returns on Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8.

And this year sees the festival looking back into the past. Way back in fact, with a festival theme of One Million Years BC (BC apparently stands for “before craft” in this case).

Joining the brewery on its trip through prehistory are its first band announcements. AKA Ska take up the festival’s by-now traditional ska act. They’ll be joined by Emma and the Ragmen, Hot Rats, Lilura, Basic Needs, April Skies, Esperi, and Josephine Sillars and the Manic Pixie Dreams. More bands are set to be announced over the coming weeks.

A spokesman for the Black Isle Brewery said “We thought casting Jocktoberfest back to one million years BC would be the perfect setting to drink organic and save the planet.

“Line-up wise we are excited to have some of the best emerging talent from across Scotland as always and there will be plenty more acts to announce as we will have more than 30 live acts over the weekend across two stages”.

Weekend tickets cost £35. For more information, go to
