Wedding fairs tend to serve a secret function as a stress test for engaged couples. If the betrothed in question can get through the myriad of choices for flowers, dresses, crockery, etc without resorting to screaming at each other in the car park outside, then usually they're set for life. If not, then a wasted afternoon looking at centrepieces is the least of their problems.

For those of you who wish to test your love's mettle in the manner described above, the Ironworks are promising a wedding fair with a difference on Sunday May 25. The difference? At this fair – dubbed “Bands Of Gold” - there'll be live bands vying for your custom and precious coin!

From pipers and acoustic guitarists to funky ceilidh bands, there'll be every kind of music to soundtrack the most important day of your love-life. But that's not all – this hodge-podge mixture of music will be soundtracking the usual wedding fair stalls of cakemakers, jewellery, photographers and specialist wedding stationary printers.

That's right – Specialist Wedding Stationary Printers!

So if you're planning a wedding, you might as well go check it out. At the very least, the music will drown out the sounds of the future Mr and Mrs Smith sniping abuse at one another like passive-aggressive tomcats.
