Five top bothy trips from the Active Outdoors archive
A new book dedicated to the best bothy adventures got us looking back at some of our favourite bothy trips over the years. Here are five we've picked out to look back on:
Corbett of Creag Rainich offers views into last great wilderness
A visit to the bothy at Lochivraon on the way to the remote Corbett of Craig Rainich, which overlooks the wild Fisherfield Munros.
From city to seclusion | Remote route makes for an exciting ride
This two-day mountain-bike route (written in two parts) took us from Inverness to Ullapool, with an overnight stop at Glenbeag bothy.
Challenge ahead for wilderness wanderer
A circular run from Dundonnell to visit Shenavall bothy ahead of the Great Wilderness Challenge, which follows the first part of this route.
Another mountain-biking adventure in the west with a stay in the 'shed' that is Glenuaig bothy.
Put to the test in the wilds of Knoydart
A'Chuil bothy is set within spectacular surroundings, and on this occasion it formed our base for three memorable Munros.
