Tickets are now on sale at venues up and down the Speyside whisky trail for this year's Spirit Of Speyside festival.

The annual events will see gigs, comedy nights – and, of course, various tasting events - at various stops along the trail; including Aviemore, Aberlour and Elgin.

One of the biggest draws is Withered Hand – the alias of Edinburgh-based folk singer/songwriter Dan Willson – and he's looking forward to returning to Aviemore.

Dan, who's playing both the Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore (Friday May 2nd) and the Drouthy Cobbler in Elgin (Saturday May 3rd), said: “It's been a few years since I played in Aviemore, so I'm looking forward to that.

“I’m going to make the most of the great hospitality the area has to offer, breathe in some country air and, with any luck, make some new friends along the way.”

Withered Hand's gigs are just some of the several events that'll be part of Speyside's celebration of its famous distilleries. Other highlights include:

  • Old Blind Dogs, The Shee and Charlie McKerron and Friends at Aberlour Fleming Hall. Tickets available from “A Gift From Scotland” on Aberlour High Street.

  • Alan Anderson, Whisky Comedian – blending fine whiskies with even finer punchlines at the Drouthy Cobbler. Tickets available from Rothes Social Club and The Grant Arms Hotel, as well as the venue itself.

  • Gigs every night at the Old Bridge Inn, including Withered Hand, Ivor Novello award winer Scott Matthews, and Scottish Album Of The Year 2013 winner R M Hubbert. Tickets available from the venue.
