Reports American investors in advanced talks to take over Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are reported to be in advanced talks with American investors to take over the club.
The Sunday Mail are reporting this morning that American investors have made a bid of around £2 million to take control of the League One administration threatened outfit.
The Sunday Mail have also reported the club have given the claimed American investors until July 25 to confirm their intentions following a meeting which reportedly took place last week.
It also says Caley Thistle needs to pay creditors £300,000 in the coming weeks or it could go under.
It is believed that that club have received offers from a number of interested parties about ploughing investment into Inverness Caledonian Thistle or taking over the club.
The accounts also revealed that the amount owed to directors and key management personnel was £2,101,751. Former chairman Ross Morrison, who resigned from his position and the board of directors last month, previously said he had put over £1 million of his own money into the club.
The club has also sought advice from an insolvency practitioner should its attempts to attract new investment fail.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have suffered a number of major blows to raising finance this year.
It included Highland Council rejecting its application to build a battery energy storage facility at Fairways which was estimated to be worth around £3.4 million.
Norwegian firm Statkraft also pulled out of a park and ride scheme at the Caledonian Stadium for its Red John Hydro Scheme at Loch Ness, which was worth between £1.4 to £1.7 million.
