Nairn police find driver asleep at the wheel of his car while over four times the drink-drive limit, Inverness Sheriff Court told
A foreman at the Port of Ardersier was found by police asleep at the wheel of his car which had its lights on and engine running, Inverness Sheriff Court heard.
And when officers “eventually managed to rouse” Daniel Taylor it was found he had a breath alcohol count of 94mcgs which is more than four times the legal limit of 22mcgs, said fiscal depute David Morton.

It was 2.50am on February 4 this year when police on patrol spotted 51-year-old Taylor’s car parked in Millbank Street, Nairn, where he is currently living although he comes from Weston-super-Mare.
He admitted a charge of being in charge of the vehicle while over the drink-drive limit.
Defence solicitor Graham Mann said Taylor had been drinking with friends in a pub just round the corner from where he was parked and “not that far away” from his temporary accommodation.
He added that Taylor, who is a foreman for a German firm working at the Port of Ardersier, had no intention to drive the vehicle that night.
Sheriff Gary Aitken decided he could deal with the case with a fine of £840 and 10 penalty points, but he told Taylor that “put him on a knife edge” of being banned under the totting-up procedure if he committed even a minor driving offence in the future.
