Man charged after last night's two-car A9 crash in Badenoch

Police have confirmed that a report is going to the Procurator Fiscal's office as a result of a crash which seriously disrupted traffic both north and south bound on the A9 between Newtonmore and Dalwhinnie.

It was at 5.15pm that the emergency services were called after a two-car crash at the junction of the A9 and the A938 for Laggan.

A spokesperson confirmed:"Two people – a 53-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman – were taken to Raigmore Hospital and later released.

"Five other people, a 24-year-old woman and four males aged 63, 62, 59 and 14, were checked at the scene."

A 63-year-old man has been charged in connection with the crash and a report is being submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
