Police officers acting on intelligence received stopped a car as it drove up the A9 at Milton of Leys and on board was a drug dealer.

At the wheel of the Citroen C3 was 37-year-old Ailsa Macdonald, of Bruce Gardens, Inverness who was arrested on the afternoon of October 7, 2022.

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair told Inverness Sheriff Court at an earlier hearing that a strip search was carried out by officers, who found a condom containing 186 wraps of heroin secreted internally.

The total weight was 104.9 grams with a maximum street value of £3720.

Macdonald was also tested for drugs and it proved positive for a cocaine derivative.

She had 800mcgs of the bi-product in her system when the legal driving limit is 50mcgs.

Macdonald admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and drug-driving.

Macdonald appeared for sentence before Sheriff Sara Matheson, after a background report was produced.

Defence solicitor Marc Dickson told the court: "She was a very small cog in a much bigger endeavour. She was heavily addicted at the time but she has since sought assistance."

Macdonald was sentenced to 225 hours of unpaid community work, social work supervision for a year and banned from driving for 12 months.
