Torridon is marking its 20th anniversary with a new album and tour.

First joining forces in 2004, founder Kenny Smith and pal Matthew Cameron embarked on a journey that began as a folky two-piece and developed into a six-piece folk rock outfit, from pub gigs to national stages including Hampden.

A key part of many festival line-ups including Belladrum, The Gathering, Tunes By The Dunes, and MacMoray, they opened Runrig’s famous “Beat The Drum” concert in Drumnadrochit.

The release of their highly anticipated album, "Polaroid", coincides with their 20th anniversary celebration, following the success of their 2019 album, "Break the Chains", which garnered over a million streams for hit single "Highland Girl".

The debut single from "Polaroid", titled "I Wanna Know", skyrocketed to the number one spot on the iTunes worldwide charts upon release.

Now preparing for the XX CASK STRENGTH tour, Kenny Smith said: “It’s hard to believe we have lasted 20 years, and in many ways we have aged like a whisky, raw, spicy and very sour to start with, ageing finely into a sweet, strong, explosion of taste, or sound in our case!

“We have a big year ahead, with many surprises and indeed special commemorative performances and merchandise to offer!”

Fans can catch Torridon on June 1 at The Gathering in Inverness and will also be at this year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival with further dates to follow through the rest of the year in Skye, Dunoon, at Tunes by the Dunes in Caithness, Dunfermline, Aberdeen, Galashiels and Dundee.

Tickets are on sale now and further tour information is available at at www.torridonlive.com/gigs
