FURTHER signalling trouble has hit the rail network in the Inverness area this afternoon.

ScotRail is warning that two stuck red lights between Inverness and Nairn are causing delays on the Inverness-Aberdeen line, with trains having to run at a reduced speed as a result.

The disruption has also sparked the cancellation of the 4.24pm Inverness to Elgin service and the 5.59pm Elgin to Inverness one.

The disruption, which ScotRail says is expected to continue until around 6pm, comes just hours after another signalling issue in the Inverness Railway Station area sparked disruption on the Highland Mainline, Inverness-Aberdeen line, Kyle Line and Far North Line.

However, unlike that earlier fault, the latest disruption only affects Inverness-Aberdeen, and the other three lines are unaffected.
