Parents and visitors to an Inverness school are being warned that parking will soon become “extremely limited” for the best part of a year.

In a notice to parents issued this week, Charleston Academy moved to remind them that Morrison Construction will be taking over the school’s car park from Wednesday (August 28) as part of its work building the new Kinmylies Nursery.

And they warned that this situation will last “approximately a year”.

A spokesperson for the school said: “As of Wednesday 28th August there will be extremely limited access to the Charleston Academy school car park.

“Our existing car park will be taken over by Morrison Construction as part of the building of the new Kinmylies Nursery. The building works will last approximately a year.

“Staff and visitors will be required to park on the temporary car park on the school blaise below the bus turning circle on Charleston View.

“At pick-up/drop-off times will be significantly more congested and we advise using alternative safe drop-off points where possible. e”.g. behind the Charleston shops.

Further guidance will be issued once we assess the situation in practice. Thank you for your support.”
