Clothes abandoned on 'secret beach' spark police concerns of possible missing person

Clothes left abandoned on a 'secret beach' near Nairn have prompted police concern and an appeal for information.

Officers in Nairn say they were made aware of "a number of items of clothing" which had been found at Hilton of Delnies in the area known locally as the "secret beach" at around 4pm on Wednesday.

"The items include a pair of canvas trainers and a towel," said a police spokesperson.

"The items appear to have been placed and not washed up. We haven’t had any reports of missing people or concerns for person in the area but enquiries are being carried out to ensure there is no one outstanding."
