Black-tie bash bags £6k for Strictly Inverness dancer’s fundraising campaign in aid of Highland Hospice and city’s ice centre
A Strictly Inverness dancer raised more than £6000 for charity with a swish black-tie bash.
Some 140 people attended the event at the Kingsmills Hotel, which was organised by Beth Saunders in aid of the annual dance contest's organisers and hosts Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.
The 22-year-old has dedicated her involvement in the contest to her mum Karen, who missed an opportunity to be involved in the event previously due to cancer.
"It was an amazing night with a fab turnout," said Beth, who arranged a ceilidh, heads and tails game, raffle and auction at the event.
"Thank you to the Kingsmills for providing an amazing venue and great food – and a massive thank you to Stephen Laurie for hosting the evening, he was amazing!
"A huge thank you to our sponsors for the night: Capstone Construction, Richard Fraser Contractors, LAS Plant, Morris Leslie and Finnie's.
"Thank you to Craig Maclellan and Megan Macdonald for helping me organise the night, I couldn’t have done it without them. And thank you to Highland Fire Ceilidh for providing such amazing music.
"We managed to raise £6000-plus which is an absolutely incredible amount. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and donated. It means the world!"
It takes Beth's total fundraising efforts so far to more than £15,400 – the highest of all 32 dancers so far. The contest takes place in May.
