A bike jumble sale and clothing swap will take place in Inverness over the next few weekends.

People can sell on or exchange bikes, parts, tools and other gear at the jumble sale, with the aim to keep useable products rather than throw them away or leave them lying in sheds and garages.

Items can also be donated to Velocity Café and Bike Workshop for the sale, which is part of the Highlands & Islands Climate Festival.

The Bike Jumble Sale takes place at the Spectrum Centre on Saturday, September 23, from 11am to 3pm.

The Clothing Swap is a collaborative event with the Highland Community Waste Partnership and The Highland Council Tenant Participation Team.

The event is a free swap, with a maximum of 15 items per person. You can drop off items from 10am, and the swap starts at 11am and runs until 3pm on Saturday, October 7, at the Spectrum Centre.

Professional stylist Amanda Latham will be there to provide expert styling advice on the day.

Isabel McLeish, project officer from Velocity Café and Bicycle Workshop, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting these upcoming sharing and swapping events to promote a circular economy.”
