Aviemore rail track death 'Not suspicious'
British Transport Police have today issued a statement concerning Friday's drama on the Highland Main Line by Aviemore.
The ScotRail services north and south of the village were suspended for the evening and through the night and road traffic was diverted for miles after the Ski Road was blocked by the emergency services.
“Officers were called to the line close to Aviemore station at 19.38pm on May 19 following reports of a casualty on the tracks," a BTP spokesperson told the Strathy.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The identity of the person involved has not as yet been confirmed.
