Wife pays tribute to victim of A9 crash at Aviemore
The wife of a man who has died in a crash on the A9 has paid poignant tribute to the "love of my life".
Roy Bannerman (60), of Evanton, died following the crash which happened near Aviemore on Tuesday March 5.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries, where he later died on Friday, March 8.
In a post on social media, his wife paid tribute to Mr Bannerman who was an engineer at Excel Healthcare.
She said: "My love my life my light. The dream team. The one that made me Mrs Bannerman. How on earth are we going to carry on without you?
"Roy and I firmly believed we should live for the moment since the day we met and I’m so very glad we did.
"We did more in our short time together than most people do in a lifetime and I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. Taken from us in the most cruelest tragic way.
"Best husband best dad best step dad who will live on in our hearts forever more."
Others also posted heartfelt messages and condolences to the family.
"An absolutely lovely man, he would do anything for anyone without a second thought," Stu Art said. Just so kind hearted. We’re just absolutely devastated for you all Shirley."
John Munro posted: "He was such a lovely person and the world is at a loss now without his cheeky smiling face."
Sheena Macmillan commented: "He was such a big hearted, kind and funny man. Its not fair. The world is now a darker place without Roy."
Following the crash, the driver of the Toyota Hilux, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and has since been released.
Police officers are continuing to appeal for information and ask that anyone who can help, who has not yet come forward, to please make contact with Police Scotland.
