TRAVEL UPDATE: Lines reopen between Inverness and south after repair to flood damage
ScotRail have confirmed that lines have reopened between Inverness and locations in the south, after repairs to damage caused by severe flooding this past weekend.
The railway line between Dunblane and Perth had remained closed after extended periods of heavy rain in recent days, resulting in the cancellation of services between Inverness and Edinburgh, and Inverness and Glasgow.
The rail operator confirmed that some speed restrictions will remain on the West Highland and Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh line.
A spokesperson said: "Due to the severe weather at the weekend, some lines had to be closed while the flood damage was assessed, and repair work was carried out.
"These lines are now open, and the only disruption is from some speed restrictions on the West Highland and Kyle Line."
