Dead body found on beach near Nairn

Police are carrying out enquiries after a dead body was found on a beach near Nairn this morning.

Part of Delnies beach – also known as the Secret Beach – was closed off while officers were at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “At around 6.15am on Thursday, 25 August, 2022, police were called to the Hilton of Delnies area of Nairn, after a body was found.

“Formal identification has yet to take place and the death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending further enquiries.”
