Fuzzness will celebrate doom, stoner and sludge – meet Robot Death Monkey

Robot Death Monkey say they are a beer drinkin' stoner groove machine formed in Edinburgh in 2010. And in our QnA from the bands heading to the Tooth & Claw in Inverness on Saturday for a special doom, stoner and sludge extravganza, they helpfully provide the first set of answers to these questions below ...

Q What was the music or artist you first remember that inspired you to get into making music yourself(ves)?

A Stoner bands like Karma To Burn, Orange Goblin and Kyuss were our main ingredients in making Robot Death Monkey the powerhouse we are today.

Robot Death Monkey.
Robot Death Monkey.

Q What have been some of the most memorable gigs you have seen?

A Our guitar Big Fraz's thrash band DWO played with this Russian band called Siberian Meat Grinder and during their set they brought a guy dressed up as a royal bear on the stage. That was memorable!

Q Now, what is the best gig you have had as a musician?

A One of our favourite gigs we have played was an event called The Liver Pounder 2, it was a friend's 21st birthday and we played next to a half pipe in a back garden jamming, skinking beers, partying for three days straight, witnessed so many amazing/daft shenanigans occur.

The band's official video for Asgardian Micro Whitey:

Q Fuzzness celebrates doom, stoner, sludge at its finest. What will be the best thing about it for you?

A Getting to see new bands, hanging out with the boiz and drinking Black Isle Blond.

Q (for visiting bands) What do you dread about being on the road to get to a gig like this?

A Trying to fit four of Scotland's hardest men and all the band gear into a 1L 09 Suzuki alto (gonna be very crammed).

Q If you could have a fantasy hero, music or otherwise, to share a bill with this year, who would it be?

A We would love it if the Texas Rattlesnake himself aka Stone Cold Steve Austin would join us on stage for a few songs on vocals.
