Man, 52, dies following crash in Motherwell

A 52-year-old man has died in hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Motherwell.

The incident happened on Windmill Street, at the junction with Airbles Road, at about 1.10pm on Wednesday.

The 52-year-old, who was driving a silver Toyota Corolla, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 1477 of Wednesday March 5 2025.
