Clachnacuddin face Deveronvale in Inverness on Saturday as match is set to kick-off at 2pm
CLACHACUDDIN will take on Deveronvale at Grant Street Park with an early kick-off at 2pm tomorrow afternoon.
The match has been brought forward by one hour to accommodate the Clachnacuddin Annual Dinner which takes place on Saturday night.
The Lilywhites will look to be in action for the first time in 2025 after severe winter weather wiped out the Highland League calendar since the beginning of the year.
Manager Conor Gethins says it has been a frustrating time for his players not being in action. But with a full squad available and no injuries concerns, they are looking forward continuing their good form during the first half of the campaign, which has seen them rise to fourth place in the table.
He said: “We have to continue on our good form, I made it my business to say to the boys on Wednesday night we can’t let it go and down tools, just because we are fourth at new year.
“I give credit to the boys who have stepped into positions they haven’t played before while the likes of Josh Meekings, Joe Malin and Harry Nicolson were out.
“What the boys have done in those games is exceptional. We are looking to push on and keep everyone fit.”
While Clachnacuddin have not been playing matches during the cold snap, Gethins has been ensuring his squad have been maintaining match fitness.
He said: “Even when they are no matches, we are keen to get the guys booked into gym sessions and keep their fitness levels up.
“I have a great bunch of boys who are keen to keep their fitness levels up.
“They go and do their work and move on and I am lucky with the squad I have.”
Gethins says Clachnacuddin continue to be in negotiations with Rothes to bring in striker Greg Morrison early after the two teams agreed a pre-contract deal.
Morrison is currently set to join Clach next season, but Gethins is keen to bring him in sooner.
He said: There are a few hurdles which is stopping that happening.
“We are trying in the background and it is frustrating for Greg as he has got himself up to a level of fitness and he doesn’t want that to drop. We will see what we can do in the next few weeks.”
