Inverness Caledonian Thistle receive anonymous donation of £20,000 to its Save ICT Fund - Fund has raised almost £110,000 since it was launched in October
INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle have received a mysterious £20,000 donation to its fundraising campaign which was originally created to prevent the club from going into administration.
The Save ICT Fund was originally established in October when the club were aiming to raise £200,000 within two weeks to prevent it from going into administration.
However, by the end of the target date on Wednesday, October 16, Inverness Caledonian Thistle had only raised £84,000 and was £116,000 short of its target.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle officially declared it had gone in to administration on Tuesday, October 22 with BDO appointed as administrators for the club.
It was confirmed that the club had more than 140 creditors including the seven players and coaches who were made redundant, totaling over £3.8 million.
Despite going into administration, the club said that it would keep the Save ICT Fund going to pay for the running costs of the club as it continued its campaign in League One.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle thanked the anonymous donator who gave £20,000 to the club along with everyone who has offered their support during the administration period.
They said “Massive thank you to the anonymous donation to our GoFundMe last week of £20,000! Thank you to everyone that has previously donated also.”
At the last update in December, administrators BDO said there were still 15 expressions of interest in investing into the club as it continues to search for a buyer.
