Inverness went down to a 4-1 defeat to Cove Rangers at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Inverness had a nightmare first quarter when Declan Glass and Mitch Megginson put Cove Rangers two goals in front after 20 minutes.

Remi Savage pulled one back for Inverness before half time. But Arron Darge restored their two-goal advantage early in the second half.

Adam Emslie then scored a thunderous low drive in injury time to seal a 4-1 victory.

Inverness are now nine points behind Annan Athletic in eighth who drew 1-1 with Queen of the South, with bottom of the table Dumbarton now three points behind Inverness after they beat Kelty Hearts 2-0.

Kellacher says he had no complaints about the result and said it wasn’t the standard he expects from his players.

“I didn’t see that happening at all,” said Kellacher.

“I am really disappointed and it is hard to take if I am being honest.

“We just had far too many players who had an off game today which we can’t afford to have if we are going to progress and move forward.

“We are better than that and that is the hard part to take.”

Kellacher admitted Cove Rangers started the game a lot better than Inverness did and credited the visitors for being able to take their chances.

“They started a lot brighter and sharper. They won the second balls and we didn’t and we didn’t pass it right.

“There were a lot of things that went wrong. It was one of those days where everything went wrong.

“I have to take it on the chin, I will always back the boys because they have done great during the time I have been in charge.

“I have to take it, the fans are gutted as well, and they have been great for us.

“It has just been a bad day, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong.”
