MANAGER Duncan Ferguson says he was pleased Inverness Caledonian Thistle ‘threw everything’ at Montrose despite not getting the result they wanted in a 1-1 draw at the Caledonian Stadium.

Inverness are still looking for their first league win of the season in League One, with Adam Mackinnon equalising after Kane Hester gave them the lead.

Inverness are in eighth place in League One with two points from their first three matches.

Ferguson, while disappointed with the draw, says he was pleased his team showed determination to try and find the winner.

He said: “It was a great finish from Adam Mackinnon and we had another 30 minutes to try and find the winner.

“We had a lot of shots on goal, but we could not find the second goal.

“We could have not done any better other than find the second goal. But there were a lot of positives to take from the match.

“It is clear to anyone watching the game that they tried as much as they could to try and get the second goal.

“They were pinned in and we peppered their goal, we dominated the second half.”

The match saw a 32 per cent increase in attendance from the previous league match against Dumbarton as the club reported a surge in season ticket sales this week.

Ferguson says he hoped the support from the fans will continue as they look for better results.

“In the main, the crowd was supportive which was nice,” said Ferguson.

“If you don’t think we played well in the second half, then there is something wrong.

“We deserved a second goal, we dominated the game and we had enough chances to win the game, but we couldn’t put the ball into the net.

“But we threw everything at them. They were camped in their half in the second half.

“We absolutely deserved the three points.”
