TONIGHT'S planned Highland derby match between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County has been called-off following a pitch inspection.

Confirming the postponement, a spokesman for Caley Thistle said the match would be rescheduled for a date that is yet to be confirmed.

"Tickets issued for this fixture will be valid for the rescheduled date," they added.

The postponement follows the inspection at the Caledonian Stadium at 12.30pm. It came in response to “recent adverse weather conditions”.

The match, which had been due to kick-off at 7.05pm, was also going to be screened live on the new BBC Scotland channel.

The inspection came as Scotland braces itself for further stormy weather tomorrow, after a yellow Met Office warning for snow was issued for parts of the country. It comes into force at 4am on Saturday and runs until 9pm.
