Tributes paid to former Inverness darts champion Mike McKerrow who passed away

Tributes were paid to former Inverness singles champion Mike McKerrow who passed away last week.

Having relocated to London, McKerrow won the singles title in 1984 playing for the Haugh Bar.

The Innes Bar Inverness Winter Darts League returned last week with a full schedule of league matches.

Portland A dropped their first point in this year’s championship as they were held to a 6–6 draw by their stablemates, Battlefield Bullies.

Portland remain top of the A League, three points clear of Seaforth Club and East End Arrows who are tied on eight points.

Innes Bar C lost 12–0 to Seaforth Club whilst the Arrows had an 8–4 victory over Still Game.

The top two in the B League both recorded wins and Castle Street Elite beat British Legion 9–3 while second placed Innes Bar defeated Canteen, 9–3 in Nairn.

Thistle B were unable to raise a team so a 12–0 was awarded to the Smithton.

Raigmore kept their 100 per cent record beating Chieftain Storm 12-0 to hold on to their slender one point lead over 147 Buddies who beat Innes X 8–4.

Keppoch Belles took their second win of the season with a 9-3 win against Arrowsmiths.

Fixtures – A League: East End Arrows v Innes Bar C, Seaforth Club v Portland A, Battlefield Bullies v Tarradale.

B League: Innes Bar v Innes Power, Thistle B v Castle Street Elite, British Legion v Canteen.

C League: SoBar Pirates v Keppoch Belles, Arrowsmiths v Chieftain Storm, Raigmore v 147 Buddies.
