Triathletes cycle swim and run at Nairn Triathlon 2024
TRIATHLETES tackled the 2024 Nairn Triathlon which took place on Sunday morning.
A total of 55 participants took part in the event which saw them swim, cycle and run through Nairn.
Orkney athlete Bobby Oag dominated the open race to claim the title in a time of one hour 55 minutes and 53 seconds.
He claimed victory by almost 17 minutes, with Andrew Kirby finishing in second place in the open category in a time of 2:12:08.
He edged Neil Robb into third place overall who recorded a time of 2:12:11.
In the women’s open, Jen Stewart claimed victory with a time of 2:18:48.
Halina Rees finished second in a time of 2:25:10 with Jo Donaldson third in 2:30:56.
In the men’s sprint championship, Andrew McGhee won in a time of 1:08:46. Andy Turnbull was second in a time of 1:10:06 with Andrew Fraser third in a time of 1:13:43.
In the women’s sprint championship, Skye Campbell was first in 1:29:44. Cherie Stewart was second in 1:32:56 and Vicky Shaw in 1:33:17.
In the men’s super sprint, Ruairidh Stirling was first in a time of 38:24. Stephen Nibloe was second in a time of 47:19 and Reece Henderson was third in 55:03.
In the women’s super sprint, Katie Meek was first in 45:33, Caron Oag was second in 49:20 with Fay Prosser third in 51:55.
