MANAGER Duncan Ferguson could take another look at trialists tonight as Inverness Caledonian Thistle play their final friendly at Brora Rangers before the start of the competitive campaign.

Former Ross County midfielder Adam Mackinnon, defender Calum Haspell who was at Queen’s Park and full back Flynn Duffy who was at Dundee United, all played as trialists for Inverness in the 1-0 defeat at Raith Rovers last Saturday.

It is thought the trio could all feature again at Dudgeon Park tonight as Inverness play their final friendly before they start their League Cup group stage campaign at Annan Athletic on Saturday.

Former Ross County midfielder Adam Mackinnon (21) who was on loan at Arbroath last season, was released from Dingwall at the end of the last campaign.

Haspell (21) who is a former Clachnacuddin youth player, joined Queen’s Park in January from Highland League club Rothes.

Haspell was at Salem University in America in 2020 before moving to the City of Malaga Academy in Spain during his time there, he progressed to their senior side CD Almuñécar City.

Left-back Duffy (20), was on loan at Peterhead from Dundee United last season.

Ferguson has previously said he already had his squad in place for this season due to the current financial situation at Inverness.

It comes after it was revealed last week Inverness Caledonian Thistle made a loss of over £588,000 for the financial year ending May 30, 2023.

It is believed any attempt to bring in trialists could rely on other players leaving the club.

It has been confirmed defender Nikola Ujdur is in negotiations to leave Inverness, with one year remaining on his current contract.

While nothing had been confirmed at the time of going to press yesterday, it is believed Queen’s Park are interested in signing the Australian.

Inverness play their final friendly tonight against Brora Rangers at Dudgeon Park with kick-off at 7.30pm.

They then start their Premier Cup campaign against fellow League One outfit Annan Athletic at Galabank with kick-off at 3pm.

Inverness then wait seven days for their first home match against League Two side Bonnyrigg Rose at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday, July 20.

Their remaining matches in the group sees them host Arbroath on Tuesday, July 23 and then travel to Dundee on Saturday, July 27.
