Top three aim for Maclennan in Belfast

Mhairi Maclennan says she is targeting a place on the podium when she competes at the Home Countries International in Northern Ireland tomorrow.

The Kirkhill athlete will represent Scotland in Belfast seven days after she claimed victory at the Inter District Championships in Stirling.

Maclennan (23) who has competed in the race before says she will face a tough challenge from English athletes but believes she has what it takes to return with a medal.

“It is a step-up from the Inter-Districts and there will be stiff competition,” she said.
