Triple world gold medal-winner Ollie Schofield will defend his Scottish title in Wishaw this weekend as precursor to an ambitious new target for 2019.

The 10-year-old Dingwall lad is planning to step up to elite level from January with the declared aim of becoming World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) world champion.

It will be a big, but far from unrealistic leap in standard for medal-laden Ollie who has all but exhausted title possibilities at current levels of competition.

Last month, the youngster travelled to Rome with proud mum and dad Michelle and Paul for the ICO World Championships.

Coming through 16 fights with flying colours, Ollie racked up a golden treble at 25kg and 30kg in points fighting and light contact.
