Jordan White believes Caley Thistle have been written off in the Championship – and reckons tomorrow night would be the perfect time to tear up those preconceptions.

The live televised clash with league leaders Ayr United at Somerset Park could go a long way towards deciding whether the Inverness team retain a stake in the title race.

Lose and John Robertson’s side would plummet 14 points behind Ayr, a massive gap even at this juncture.

Win, though, and the gap would be trimmed to eight points after 16 matches, with the league summit very much within sight entering the festive period.

White, who picked off Edinburgh City with a hat trick in Tuesday night’s Scottish Cup third round replay, is convinced the Inverness men are ready to confound expectations.
