Lewis Sutherland didn’t waste any time in making an impact at the Scottish Novice Boxing Championships when he beat his first opponent by 44 seconds.

The Highland Boxing Club fighter recorded the fastest stoppage out of 115 bouts during the weekend when he beat Glaswegian Liam McConnville from Newart Hill Boxing Club in the 60kg category.

The Nairn man returns to the championship at Ravenscraig in Motherwell where he will face Josh MacDonald from Noble Arts Boxing Club in Glasgow on Saturday.

If he is successful, he will be up against either Jay Blyth from Clovenstone Boxing Club in Edinburgh or Haig Clark from Byron Boxing Club in Glasgow in the final.
