A FANS group say they are hugely concerned regarding the future of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and that the club are on the brink of possible administration.

The Inverness Caledonian Thistle Supporters Trust say they are calling on everything to be done possible to prevent the club becoming insolvent.

The League One outfit sent a letter to shareholders on Wednesday morning, stating it needed to raise at least £200,000 by Wednesday, October 16 to avoid becoming insolvent and going into administration. The club also says it will need to raise between £1.4 million to £1.6 million to operate until the end of the season.

The Trust says it was disappointed with the letter from the club today that administration is a real possibility after it was announced last month that the club future’s had been safeguarded.

Now they are asking for everything to be done possible to prevent the club’s going into administration later this month.

The statement said: “We are hugely concerned about recent events regarding the club’s financial future.

“It was only five weeks ago that supporters were advised that the club had been saved and administration was no longer a possibility.

“With this positive news, fans and ICTST have rallied behind the club, providing volunteers to assist around the stadium, making it a better destination to visit on match days, and renovating the new Bar 94 in under two weeks.

“It was therefore disappointing to read in the press that the club are now again considering administration, something the Supporters’ Trust do not wish to see happen.

“We thereby call on all major shareholders and former directors to set aside any differences and concerns to prevent the club falling into administration.

“In particular, we urge the former directors who have brought us to this point over the last few years to acknowledge the part they have played in allowing this situation to get to this stage and to step forward to avert this very real existential threat.”

The statement added that if the club go ahead with administration it would have a devastating impact not just on the team but for staff at the club too.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are planning to hold an open meeting on Monday night at 7.30pm and the Trust says it vital discussions take place with everyone before final decisions are reached.

They said: “The impact of administration could be devastating for the club on and off the park.

“The livelihoods of loyal employees will be impacted, a large points deduction could effectively relegate the club to the lowest tier, and to an even more worrying extent the club’s license to play in the SPFL could be at risk.

“It is imperative that dialogue takes place before any final decisions are reached.

“The Supporters Trust have always been available to assist the club where we can and will continue to do so.”
