Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle striker Austin Samuels has agreed a deal to join a club in the Scottish Championship.

The 23-year-old, who spent 18 months at the Caledonian Stadium before leaving in the summer, has joined Greenock Morton in a deal until January.

Samuels joined Inverness Caledonian Thistle in January 2022 from Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he had previously been on loan at Kidderminster Harriers, Bradford City and Aberdeen.

He scored seven goals in over 50 appearances during his time in Inverness. He was one of a number of players who was released from Caley Thistle during the summer.

He could make his debut for Greenock Morton in their Trust Trophy clash with Hamilton Academical tonight.

Meanwhile Inverness Caledonian Thistle could be facing administration on Wednesday unless they can raise £200,000.

If they fail to do so, Inverness Caledonian Thistle will receive a 15-point deduction which would see them drop to the bottom of the table. They would be 12 points behind Dumbarton who would move into ninth.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Duncan Ferguson has admitted the players and coaching staff are all worried about the prospect of administration in the press conference on Thursday. They are due to face Livingston in the Trust Trophy third round tomorrow.
