Striker predicts Inverness Caley Thistle to go on winning run after first league victory
ADAM Brooks is confident Inverness Caledonian Thistle can go on a winning run after picking up their first victory in League One this season.
A 1-0 win over Queen of the South was Caley Thistle’s first victory in seven matches in all competitions thanks to a strike from Billy McKay.
It has moved Inverness up to fifth place in League One and only three points behind league leaders Kelty Hearts as Saturday proved to be a morale boosting day for the team.
Striker Brooks says now they have got the first win under their belt, he is predicting that the wins will start rolling in and has designs going on top.
“As soon as the first win has come in, they are just going to start rolling in,” predicts Brooks.
“You can see it happening. The boys clicked on the pitch, we could have scored a few more chances, but they will come.
“The gaffer is drilling it into us about having the short sharp passes. We don’t need to rush it, sometimes you feel you need to get forward and open up the space but the goals will come.
“If you create those chances one will go in eventually and we need to make sure we know how to create those chances.
“It is a competitive league, teams are beating teams, so we need to keep in the mix. The points are flowing in and it is only a matter of time before we are top.
“You can see the confidence in the group and the boys, we are all chatting away, we are a good group of lads.”
Inverness are set to take a break from league action on Saturday when they face Stirling Albion in the SPFL Trust Trophy third round at the Caledonian Stadium.
Brooks added: “Stirling Albion will be a good test for the boys. You can’t get complacent, but we want to win everything we can and try and get a trophy.”
