A Sean Welsh free kick was the difference maker against the Lions, setting up a trip to Hibernian in the quarter finals.

It is the 12th time in Caley Thistle’s history that they have reached the last eight of the competition, and as the only non-Premiership side left they will be underdogs whoever they come up against.

But Storey maintains that there will be no shortage of belief within the ICT squad that their Scottish Cup journey can continue.

“There’s something about the team and the Scottish Cup,” Storey said.

“Obviously last year the boys got to the semi finals, and there’s no reason we can’t do that again.”

“I think we can give anyone a game when we’re on it. We’ll take anyone on.”
