Miles Storey rescued a point for Inverness Caledonian Thistle as they rounded off 2020 with a draw at the Caledonian Stadium.

Kyle Turner gave Dunfermline the lead midway through the first half as the Pars went into the break in the lead.

But Storey’s fantastic second half strike from 20-yards out gave Inverness a point, but their winless run stretches to three games.

The draw means Caley Thistle will stay in seventh place in the Championship going into 2021 as they head to Arbroath on Saturday.

Caley Thistle had a chance early on to take the lead when Robbie Deas was allowed to charge into the box and fire a low drive that was easily saved by former Inverness goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams.

But Dunfermline came closer when Iain Wilson’s cross from the left wing found Euan Murray at the edge of the six-yard box, whose shot went inches wide of the left post.

However they did break the deadlock midway through the first half after Lewis Mayo shot was blocked by Robbie Deas.

But the ball fell kindly to Turner who fired into the bottom left corner of the net.

Striker Shane Sutherland came close twice to finding an equaliser for Inverness, the first he beat the Dunfermline defence in the air but his header hit the crossbar.

His second was a powerful shot from 18-yards out that forced Fon Williams to parry the ball over the bar.

But Inverness did find an equaliser midway through the second half as a long throw in from Brad McKay found Storey at the edge of the box who turns his marker and fires into the top left corner of the net.

Neither team came close to scoring a second as they shared the points.
