Ross County sign Austrian midfielder David Cancola to bring Europa League experience to Malky Mackay's squad

Ross County have snapped up powerful Austrian midfielder David Cancola in a Bosman-style deal.
The 24-year-old, a free agent after leaving Czech top-flight side Slovan Liberec, had agreed the pre-contract move to the Highlands after a successful trial in January.
Paperwork, including a work visa, was finally tied up tonight to make Cancola manager Malky Mackay's fifth summer signing.
Subject to international clearance, the defensive playmaker will join the squad for the League Cup group clash with Montrose.
A delighted Mackay, who is still targeting at least four more signings, said: "David is a player we have been tracking for some time, both before and after his trial period here last January.
"He has played extensively in the Austrian and Czech leagues, and also in the Europa League.
"The Club has worked really hard to bring David to Dingwall, as signing European players is currently an extensive process.
"We are delighted to sign David as he brings a wealth of experience to the playing squad, and we look forward to getting him started at Ross County”.
Cancola came through the Austria Vienna youth system, playing for them in the UEFA under 19 youth league before getting called up by Austria U-20.
He made his senior club debut for Vienna in 2017, and his European debut came that season in the Europa League.
He signed for TSV Hartberg in 2018 after a loan spell with Wiener Neustadt, becoming a central figure in their 5th place finish in 2019-20.
Cancola also helped them qualify for the Europa League for the first time in their history.
Having signed for signed for Slovan Liberec in July 2020, he made his debut the following month and, again, tasted Europa League football against German club Hoffenheim.
