The Inverarnie outfit announced last night it will not take part in any league or cup matches this year due to Covid restraints and associated costs, as well as player issues.

Boleskine were due to play Strathspey in North League C at Farr today.

In a statement, the club says their players are free to join other teams this season, but hope they can return to action next year.

They said: "After much serious discussion the club has taken the difficult decision to withdraw from all Camanachd Association fixtures this season.

"Due to Covid restraints and it’s associated costs, as well as player issues, we could not commit to fulfilling our fixtures which is not fair on the Camanachd Association and other clubs.

"We have encouraged those players who wish to keep their skills up to find another club for this season but hope that they will come back to Boleskine for season 2022."

Boleskine said training will continue at Farr on Wednesday evenings and hope to set up a few friendlies later on in the season.

They have become the second team to pull out of the 2021 season after Lewis decided to sit this year out last week, also due to the impact of the pandemic.
